Throughout 18 years of business, sustainability and social responsibility have been at the core of our intentions and decisions at Numi. We’ve sought to follow our hearts down this path, determined to have a positive impact on the lives of people in our supply chain, and on this one, precious planet. Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve accomplished in the last year through the power of pure tea:

People: the heart of our vision and values

Numi Organic Tea is committed to promoting ethical treatment and fair wages throughout our supply chain – this is why we source Fair Trade and Fair Labor ingredients preferentially.

With 89% of our ingredients sourced directly back to the farm level, we seek to build close, long-term relationships with our farming partners, even helping some become Fair Trade, Fair Labor, or Organic certified. In fact, since 2005, Numi has invested more than $1.8 million in the development, administration and implementation of Fair Trade and Fair Labor programs (including premiums).

Realizing the need for clean water in developing communities around the world, we launched our Together for H₂OPE program, and in 2016 brought clean, safe drinking water to 4,000 people in our turmeric farming communities in Madagascar by building 23 new wells, paired with hygiene training and education.

Planet: promoting sustainability

Numi works to support the planet with a commitment to promoting sustainable and regenerative agriculture, sourcing organic ingredients, eco-responsible packaging, and offsetting our carbon emissions.

Numi hand-picks premium organic teas and herbs, blending them with only real fruits, flowers and spices, letting the full flavor of nature speak for itself.

Numi purchased 125 ingredients from 26 countries across the globe in 2016, 89% of which can be traced directly to the farm on which they were grown.
